Our Vision
Our vision is to provide music education for both young and old to be a total musician with a high sense of music ability and to instill in them an endless passion for music. Apart from that, we provide live piano instrumentals performances of popular songs and original songs for therapeutic and tranquility purposes. Music heals our souls and it brings joy to everyone. We aspire to bring fun and joy to the people learning and listening to music and that’s why we are called musicplaystation. Our tagline ‘Let The Music Play’ is to let the music continue to influence and touch us continuously in our lifes and not fade away
Our Story
Our Story
Musicplaystation started of with piano lessons and providing youtube videos of TVB theme song's and pop songs piano covers providing free music sheets. TVB is a Hong Kong drama series production. It then expanded its services with live piano performances and currently David Cha is playing live piano regularly at Sunway Medical Centre and Empire Hotel Subang Jaya. Note that now musicplaystation no longer provide free sheet, But it can be purchased from our site here. Checkout the ‘Piano Sheets’ tab from the ‘Menu’ above to browse for piano sheets. We also provide workshops on how to play piano by ear and lastly, music arrangement and transcribing services is also provided to aspiring composers and singers. Meet Musicplaystation CEO & Founder
David Cha Hou Yean
CEO & Founder
Mr David Cha was born in 1969 and his hometown was at Banting, Selangor, Malaysia. He started learning piano at the age of 7 and since then fell in love with music and piano and always obtain distinctions or merits for his exams. He obtain ABRSM certificate for grade 8 both practical and theory at the age of 15. Since then he had a passion to learn more about piano and playing by ear. He was the choir master in school and always gave piano presentations during school events. His passion for music drove he to develope playing by ear by himself. He is self taught. Unfortunately after finishing secondary school, he did not get to pursue his dream to be a musician(Pianist) in overseas due to financial constraints. He furthered his studies in Mechanical Engineering at University of Technology Malaysia. During his studies in UTM he continue to widened his knowledge in playing by ear by playing in the church and giving piano performances and singing. He graduated from UTM at 1992 and worked as an engineer. He then served in his hometown church (Chinese Methodist Church) as a music director for choir. During his tenure as an engineer, he taught piano part time in 1993 and started to produce minus one songs for choir and for vocal schools and began to explore and learn more about music production. After getting married in 2003 to his wife Irene Woo, he moved to Subang Jaya city and continue to serve in Pantai Baptist Church in the music ministry as a pianist and guitarist (his 2nd instrument). In 2009, he made the decision to quit his engineering job and do music full time. He obtain Yamaha Junior Music Course Teaching Certificate and taught in Yamaha school in 2010 and also continued his house calls piano lessons till this day. He started composing his own composition in 2003 and started to publish his own material. He composed theme songs for Pantai Baptist Church VBS (Vacation Bible School) in 2013 and continued annualy. Currently he still teaches house call piano lessons, Yamaha JMC course, and performs live piano professionally. He is popular for his calm and therapeutic tranquil style of playing the piano. He is also a composer, music arranger and producer. His music is mainly published in the digital music stores (Spotify, iTunes etc) worldwide
